Chiropractic is a healthcare profession that focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of musculoskeletal disorders.  Chiropractors use non-invasive techniques, such as manual manipulation and adjustments, to improve joint mobility and relieve pain in the muscles, joints, and nerves.  The central concept of chiropractic is that the body has the ability to heal itself and that the role of the chiropractor is to help facilitate this process.

Our Treatments

Everyone is different, which is why we offer a wide variety of treatment options. Your unique needs and issues will determine your course of treatment. Below are some of the more common types of chiropractic treatments we utilize for our patients

Chiropractic Adjustments

This treatment is what most people associate with chiropractors. While the manual adjustment is one of the most commonly utilized forms of adjusting at Motus, our chiropractors are trained in other methods of adjusting as well. Ultimately, our goal is to ensure you have a great experience within your comfort levels. So if you are nervous with manual adjustments, our doctors are trained in many other ways to adjust your spine and extremities. Some utilize instruments that elicit a gentle mechanical impulse to the joint or there are other table assisted methods that can derive the same treatment results.

IASTM

Instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) is known under a number of different names. Regardless of what the treatment is labeled as, it utilizes specialized stainless steel tools and instruments to detect and treat issues such as build ups of scar tissue, muscle restrictions, and issues with the fascia and other connective tissues. The instruments allow the chiropractor to apply localized pressure in a way that they can’t do with their hands alone.

Myofascial Release

This treatment involves applying gentle, targeted pressure to the connective tissues in order to release and relax tight skeletal muscles and connective tissues, resulting in improved mobility and movement and decreased pain.

Soft Tissue Mobilization

Soft tissue mobilization can be done with the use of instruments (as mentioned above) or manually (also known as hands-on release). Regardless of the method, soft tissue mobilization helps to break down scar tissue and increase the flow of oxygen to the area, promoting healing and reducing the risk of further injury.
